Underwriting Assistant

Haven't posted for a while,but I just got an underwriting assistant position at a commercial real estate investment company. I had two questions about getting an ib analyst role as I am starting my senior year of my undergrad. First, will the underwriting assistant job be a good stepping stone to an ib analyst role. And second, I am double majoring in math and econ. I could drop my math major for my senior year and make a lot more money with this company. Would it be beneficial to do this for the money or would my math major benefit me more in getting an ib analyst role post graduation?
