Urgent: Background Check Help

Hi guys, I have a job with a BB in their AM division. I just got an email from the Background Check peeps regarding a credit default litilgation that my Dad was involved in for his company. Understand that only my Dad and his brother were the original partners of this firm. However, my Dad passed away 7 years back and I was a minor when the litigation began. I am a party to the case only and only because I am a natural and legal heir. My company has asked me to furnish more details regarding this.

How do I revert to this? What should I do to mitigate the reputational risk to my firm? They have asked me to furnish me with documents that prove my non-liability in the future.

Please help.
