US to UK FT
Can anyone provide color on if this is possible? I saw that a few BB/EBs have openings in London/Greater London, but I'm unsure if firms are willing to sponsor Americans. I know recruiting overseas is mainly merit-based and less focused on networking, but I am highly interested in making the jump. Thanks!
My experience is domestic candidates are usually prioritised - it's still possible, sure, but more likely / easier route is to internally transfer or study an MA or MBA over here and recruit that way.
barclays is supportive ik a ton of ppl who transferred to london after a few years in NYC
We don't want you
Unless you go to a globally known school in the US, have some sort of DEI or have the right to work, it’s pretty hard.
Pls apply to US firms. The competition here is more than enough
If he wants to apply to london, he is more than likely not at a target university. I doubt someone from a not so well-known US school has a real chance.
Just curious what your rationale is on why you'd like to move to London for IB?
Saying the UK is more merit-based is crazy lmao
It actually is more merit-based compared to the states lol. In london you can't really network just to get interviews like in the states and there are way more overqualified candidates in london compared to the states
That's an insane take
No networking means anyone that didnt go to a specific set of schools is SOL. Not sure how that makes it more merit-based
