IMO, Valentine's Day sucks, worst holiday on the calendar. Give me Arbor Day over Valentines Day.
If in a relationship: Expectation to go on an expensive date on a random Tuesday in February plus give a gift? To me that's stupid and just another way for lame couples to flaunt their activity on social media. Even if you argue that it's just about spending quality time with your SO, seems like that is only a burden / change in norm to those in weak relationships that don't make time for each other in the first place.
If single (or not in serious relationship): Have to go through the day with constant reminders that you're not in a relationship. Not upsetting, just annoying. I was offered cookies and chocolate in lobby on way into office. No thanks, it's 8 am on a Tuesday. Pictures of couples I mostly don't care about in the slightest litter social media. Girls posting about their "Galentine's Day" affairs. If you're in the early stages of a possible relationship it's worse - your actions / or lack of actions are much more highly leveraged on VDay.
Hallmark holiday that has grown more prevalent / cringe with social media. Maybe I just need to get off social media altogether. If you can't tell by this post, I'm single :(
