Valid strategy or terrible idea?

I'm in my 4th year of university in the UK, after an exchange year. I had a summer at a consulting firm in my second year but wanted to make the switch to IB. I was planning on doing a 2 year/16 month masters and applying for spring internships in IB this year. Does anyone see a genuine problem with this in practice?
