Virtual Internship IB Tasks (research/comps) Tips?

I just started my virtual internship in IB and my supervisor said he will give me research and comps tasks until I can get remote access which seems gonna take a long time (if happened). Any tips on how can I make the most of these tasks and my two months? and any general WFH tips? I’m curious to hear from analysts and associates on how they expect interns to perform in these researches or comps in terms of formatting, content, etc. any tips or guidance is appreciated.

I'm in a similar situation. I was hoping to get more facetime but looks like it will be mostly virtual at this point. Today is day 1 for me.

My head said we won't have the traditional help of the interns this summer because they won't be as ready and it's hard to guide them better since we won't be tthere in pesron. The analyst will make sure you all are given some good work but also some busy work that we're too bored or busy to do. You gotta climb up the ranks, right?

Will update my computer soon and leave Incognito so I will disappear forever. How did I achieve Neanderthal by trolling? Some people are after me so need to close account for safety.

Any idea on how they're gonna evaluate interns for FTO? The ability to do busy work? Will there be a case study?

I said this in other thread, but we will look at your attention to detail, attitude, commitment to job, all things that we would have looked at anyways. You can assess all of these things with any work you are assigned, whether it's creating a simple meeting book, profiles or a revenue build for amodel.

Having completed a 3 month PE virtual internship a few years ago I would just say be yourself. It's only "weird" if you make it weird. Depending on who your supervisors will determined the amount of active involvement you will have regarding training.

As cliche as it sounds "demand your education". If you are struggling with concepts reach out to your supervisor and ask questions. If you just want to brainstorm ideas ask what a good time would be to talk and make time for it.

The difference between a virtual and an in person internship is that you have to demand and be more active about the ways in which you're experiencing the work. Make an effort and be friendly and you should have a valuable experience.

that’s really helpful. I think my mentality so far is that I don’t want to push too much right now but at the same time I want to get the most out of it. can you speak to the best ways you were able to leverage your experience? how frequently did you ask for video meetings and would it be easier to walk through feedback say on a model or project?
