my optometrist told me watching tv for extended periods of time doesnt weaken ur vision, so i assume same goes for computers. i dont think its "obvious", im sure there are bankers out there who dont need glasses/contacts

I've had this issue, the doctor explained it as not being weakened vision, but your retinas are focused on something so close to you for so long that they actually slow down and take longer to focus on something at distance. That was in my case anyway

FinanceWizHas anyone had their vision worsen in the time you are an analyst because of the amount of time you stare at a computer screen?

Okay, here I go.

When I entered banking exactly 3 years ago I had a new set of glasses made in NYC. I figured over the next 2-3 years my vision would decline. Last month I went in for a check-up and was told my vision was same as 3 years ago. The only banking related side-effect is that my eyes are now dry... Not sure if it's from office environment or what exactly.
