Wachovia summer analysts/associates
There's a rumor going around that Wachovia's investment banking arm is going to cut its summer analyst/associate program and start pulling offers. Can anyone confirm?
Dude seriously - former Bear SA here - cut the crap with the rumors. While the ones surrounding my position ended up being true, it causes unnecessary worry in most cases. Wachovia was not bought out, and while they have been in the news lately, I can't see them cutting a class within 3-4 weeks of their start date.
While i don't know anything about Wachovia specifically, one of the users here just posted another thread yesterday about some of her fellow analysts who started with her being let go.
what i was trying to say is that while there's nothing specific to Wachovia, there's just general layoff risk at this point

where did you hear that rumor. i know of some ft analysts that are supposed to start early June who haven't yet been given a firm start date. Any guesses as to why that might be?
