I interviewed for a boutique IB last week, but I still haven't gotten a response yet. They told me "soon," but how should I approach this...should I just hold tight or send an email?

For now, just hold tight. Response times really vary by bank.
When I went through the interview process, one bank got back to me 3 days later, one 2 weeks, and the other about 16 hours.
The bank might also just be very swamped with deals right now and the team hasn't had time to sit down and make a final decision yet.
I'd give it 7-10 days before I would send a follow up email.

If it gets past 8 days I would send a follow up e-mail. I don't think it can negatively effect you, only help. Waiting to hear back can be rough though, good luck!
