want to make it rain like blankfein?

Alright, everyone on here is all about whats the best path to be on to make it rain baby, etc etc.

Well blankfein is the biggest rain maker going around, he pulled in 53mil total comp in 2007!!

Where did he start? As a corporate tax lawyer!! So forget about this analyst to MBA onwards etc crap. Start off in corporate tax, and you can make it rain !!

Note: This is to show there isnt necessarily a narrow set path that one must take to get to where they want to be.

Corp Tax lawyers make bizank no matter where they are.. think about all the $ coprs make, then a lawyer charging 5%... Big Big $$$. Also, CT lawyers already know almost everything bankers or traders would know, too.

Life is more than dollars

He didn't start as a corp tax lawyer. And he isn't the biggest 'rainmaker' around. He prob doesn't even consistently rake in the most of all people working @ GS (but that is just a guess).

Actually, he started as a sperm cell and was selected from a hyper-competitive pool of millions to get promoted to the role of zygote. True story.

x OP has realized that life is not a path and current senior banking executives come from non traditional backgrounds [x} OP fails to think deeper and realize that the industry is much more mature than it was when Blankfein started out

How is blankfein the "biggest rain maker around"? There are employees at GS who make more than him. And how about the hedge fund managers literally taking home a billion dollars in a single year?
