Want to postpone assessment centre. Thoughts?

Some background: - Penultimate year from target looking for IB and Consulting internships - Applied through SEO and have been recommended to partner firms, but only for audit and tax (as consulting has already filled up, and SEO for IB haven't got back to me yet). - Got assessment centre with a Big 4 firm for Tax very close to my exams and really can't afford taking a day and a half out. - Also got assessment days with at least 2 of the other Big 4 for Audit/Consulting.

Really can't see myself working in Tax, and to a lesser extent Audit, when I graduate. I am also less than enthused about even doing the Tax internship. But I think it might be a good stepping stone to consulting/IB.

My question is: will I really hurt my chances by asking to postpone my assessment centre till after my exams (finish in about 2 weeks)? Or is that asking for too much? I think if they can't move me to another group, I might just thank them for their time and move on.

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
