What are some LMM and MM boutique tech M&A firms in the following states?

Last post didn’t gain traction. TLDR: I am looking to pivot.

Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia. I would also include New York but I doubt given my background I would get any response via networking (1.5 yrs PubFin IB and currently, 5 mos Corp Law Firm in derivative/prime space)

I anticipate people telling me to Google and I could use websites like axial but I can’t effectively cross check if they’re active firms and would like to know if there are reputable names people have in mind.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights for identifying LMM and MM boutique tech M&A firms in the states you mentioned:

  1. Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia:

    • While specific firm names aren't directly listed in the knowledge base, a good approach is to focus on firms with strong regional presence in these states. Many boutique firms specialize in tech M&A and have a regional focus, especially in growing tech hubs like Austin (Texas), Raleigh (North Carolina), and Atlanta (Georgia).
    • Utilize LinkedIn to search for boutique M&A firms in these states and cross-check their activity by reviewing recent deals or employee profiles.
  2. New York:

    • While you may feel hesitant about networking in New York, it's worth noting that many boutique firms in NYC have a national reach and may still be open to candidates with your background. Firms like FT Partners (focused on FinTech) or other specialized boutiques could be worth exploring.
  3. General Tips:

    • Websites like Axial and PitchBook can help identify active firms, but as you mentioned, cross-checking their activity is key. Look for recent deal announcements or press releases.
    • Networking with professionals in the tech M&A space, especially those in your target states, can provide valuable insights into reputable firms. Consider reaching out to alumni or professionals in your extended network.

If you're looking for more specific firm names, you might need to dive deeper into regional deal activity or leverage platforms like LinkedIn to identify firms with a strong presence in these states.
