What are the best bars/hangouts in the Financial District?

pretty much everyone just goes to ulysses. however if youre really hip the cooler place is Jeremy's ale house on the pier.

I have a secret spot. Unfortunately I cannot share it with you. Its sort of an exclusive club. Would have to talk to the board of drunkees and give you a psych evaluation before I tell you the name of the place.

a lot of NYBOT & NYMEX locals/brokers/clerks hang out at PJ Clarke's on the first floor of the financial center on the north cove

i like it, decent sports bar and good outside seating

The Full Schilling - Good lunch / Liquid Lunch Irish pub, closes fairly early so keep that in mind

Pound and Pence - Good beer selection including a couple of cask ales on pump, pool tables upstairs, also closes fairly early

Killarney Rose - More of a new york Irish pub, great sliders and cheaper drinks, open much later than the other two
