Assuming you are aiming for an Investment Banking Career, be willing to do any investment banking internship role unpaid, no matter how small the firm is. Cold-email, cold-call, etc. Just include that you are willing to do it unpaid.

If not, you can also try for boutique PE firms or even VC firms as an option.

The 3rd option, do any internship in any role in a bank, be it operations, finance, PWM, risk, etc. (might as well get a brand name internship if possible), then use that opportunity to network with people in IBD.

Best Response

I study at a target univeristy in "continental europe" (UK excluded) that places very well at BBs in London, although, usually, after the master's degree. I also applied for the spring insight programmes but I'm still waiting for responses.

Should i try to reach out to places like http://www.askivy.net/articles/investment-banking/interview-preparation… or aim at smaller firms? If so where can I find them? (it seems easy t find lists of small firms for US, but not for EU...)

Also, what do you think of this program and how do you think it will look on CV (rather than a summer school or doing something at a small IB firm) http://amplifytrading.com/trader-development/individual-trainee-program… ? (the 2 month "interniship") Even though I probably dont want to do trading in the long run (I'd prefer a job in which you interact with others), I have always found it fascinating and would love to learn something about it.

Thanks!
