What can I do to land an internship in IB not being from a target school

Hey my name is James, I'm from Salt Lake City, I'm a finance major at the University of Utah, and I am determined to land an internship in Investment banking. I know that will not be easy not being from a target school but I am determined to land an internship. I am aware that for this summer (summer 19), it may be a little late, I am looking to land an internship for the following summer (summer 20). I have a good GPA (3.7-3.8), have a little bit of experience as I am a part of the student investment fund and also was an investment banking intern (unpaid) for IndustryPro, and willing to put in work. any advice?

Networking early. Start reaching out to senior members at banks you're interested in.

Contrary to some people's advice I found reaching out to VP's and above more helpful in my internship search.
