What do "great team players" in banking do to distinguish themselves?
Communicate frequently, ask questions when lost, share best practices, have a friendly personality, deliver timely and accurate work product...is there something else that plays into the mix? It seems pretty standard.
Alternatively, has anyone ever been around a particularly bad teammate in the context of banking?

the answer to this question is definitely not specific to banking. Great team players in banking and in other industries will exhibit the qualities that you stated above, and yes it is standard. No magic formula here.
During my analyst stint I worked with plenty of "bad teammates" who were just bad to work with, but it's not a banking-specific issue and it can happen anywhere.
A "good teammate" at the analyst level is someone who does everything they are told without mistakes and does it with a smile, no matter how retarded the request may be (many of them will be retarded and mind numbing and will ruin your plans for the night or weekend). wash, rinse, repeat....
