What do I ask the CFO of an investment bank in a call?
So I emailed an alum at my school who is a CFO at a bank. Did not expect a response but got one within a day.
The bank is a full service bank based overseas and he is the US CFO. He does not have an IB background. I don't want to say if it's a BB or an MM or whatever it is because I don't want anyone to come across this and identify me or the guy I'm talking to.
What do I say on the call? How do I talk to him? I have never talked to someone so senior and I don't know what to ask about the business or the sectors or anything. Help!
Ask questions about him, his career decisions, then pivot to what you like, where you're looking to go. Get his thoughts, come up with pointed, intelligent and non-googleable questions.
This is a good opportunity, take advantage and be prepared.
