What is better? Hourly rate or pro-rated salary for Summer Analyst?
If you have a choice which would you pick for your summer internship. Hourly rate(42.00) that pays overtime or the pro-rated (105) salary for an analyst?

Same, I’m getting paid $20 per hour this summer. Was shocked af when I saw $42.
But to answer OP’s question, I would easily take the hourly rate if OT pay is taken into account.

Idek about the hours tbh. When I spoke with the head of the team, he told me hours will be capped at 40 per week, but when I spoke with research associates they all told me to expect 10-12 hours per day.
I signed hourly. I was pleasantly surprised when I did some quick math and realized that works out to almost 5k per week @ 80hrs and 1.5 OT… much more than my prorated peers. Now, I don’t know if we will be quietly encouraged to not take OT, but according to offer we must clock everything. Seems like the firm is wasting their $$$… not complaining tho.
