What is the comp range for MD’s in corporate banking?
Wasn’t able to find anything recent on CB comp at the higher levels. Does anyone know what base + bonus numbers look like at the MD level in corporate banking?

Bump. How about VP and up?
MD numbers probably hard to come by as there aren’t many

I saw on a thread a while back that numbers are around 600-1 million based on company and revenue production
A million or close to it for many, with some higher if they are rainmakers.
How exactly does one become a rainmaker when your primary products are loss making?
Because those customers are then sold M&A and capital markets products.
Is the corporate banking lifestyle better than IB? Or is the trade off less interesting work
I work in corporate banking and the lifestyle is significantly better, 60 hours is a bad week and 70 hours is when we are working on an M&A deal which is terrible.
I average around 50 hours a week and I personally find the work not that interesting but not because of anything particularly negative, its just this job is more suitable to people who actually want to have a life outside the office, in other words people like myself find no kind of work we do in the office interesting because I'll always rather be spending my time in leisure. I'll never find a hairy bolt on M&A or a restructuring deal "interesting" and people who do may not like corporate banking.
