What level of technical knowledge in interviews would be expected of somebody with this type of experience?
I'm a rising junior economics major and computer science minor at a good target school aiming to get into BB IBD for next summer. I just finished up a summer internship at a MM investment bank primarily focused on M&A. I've taken one financial accounting class and will also take an intro to financial theory class this autumn for the econ major. I've heard that all else equal, a Wharton finance major will be grilled harder on technicals than, say, an english/liberal arts major. At what level of technical knowledge would I be expected to know?
bump anybody?
lol with your experience, you're going to be expected to compete with them best of them.
better know valuation concepts like the back of your hand, and have a solid grasp of LBO fundamentals/accretion dilution.
Also, my GPA isn't that great (~3.2), though it comes from a school known for grade deflation. Thankfully, I've got some connections. I've heard that if you can network really well, then GPA doesn't matter as much. How true is that?
