What rules/laws have changed in accounting and taxes - for financial modeling

When I was doing undergrad recruiting, I remember using 35-40% tax rate, not capitalizing operating leases, etc.

What has changed/what is the new default assumption in modelling? I am not just asking about tax rates, but also Rf rates, other accounting rules, bankruptcy regulations, etc.
