What's the future of O&G? Can I build a career in this space for the next 40-50 years?

Received associate offer from a top O&G group in Houston think (Jefferies, Evercore, Citi), currently 3rd year at a MM TMT group. However, I just don't know if this is a good industry to be in, given how cyclical the industry is and seems like people are generally investing in green tech to replace oil. Obviously that would take awhile before people start to see Tesla replacing Toyota on the road, but can I make a career out of O&G for the next 40-50 years?

My brother in christ, why would you go from TMT to O&G. O&G is not dead, but O&G deals in 30 years will be the same as those of 20 years ago.
