When do you start networking with alumni at BB and EB?

I am currently a rising sophomore as a transfer student at a target school. I already started networking with alumni at regional boutiques this summer and am just wondering when I do start cold-emailing those at BBs and EBs. I heard from an upper-year that you don't want to do it too early but I am not sure what would a good time to start exactly.

Great question. I would start during your fall semester (maybe 20 emails a week min) and then start ramping up the number of emails during the end of the year/spring semester.
