when should I cut the PHONE CONVOs off?

I've been doing alot of informational interviews with alums, just chatting etc. Things usually go on good for about half an hour and I have all my questions answered. But my last one the alum had to stop in the middle (for an assignment) before I could ask him to help pass my resume along.

The conversations so far has been flowing nicely but I know that they're working and dont got all day. So how long should phone informational interviews last? Should I cut out some questions and go straight to the plea for help?

Thanks!

If you still have more to say and they haven't cut you off, keep asking. I'd take advantage of as much information as they are willing to share with you. If they have a meeting to go to or work that needs to be done, they know how to end a conversation.
