When to resign during covid

Hey everyone. First post here but I've been reading WSO on and off since 2014/2015 when I was in college looking for IB jobs.

Hoping to solicit advice on when I should be resigning my current position. I'm an A2A at a regional boutique in the Midwest. I accepted a LMM PE offer last week (this is a brand new fund and the offer was a call and then bullet points in an email - hilarious). I won't be starting until after labor day but would like some time off. When is the appropriate time to resign and let them know I'm moving on? Should I do it now or wait until late July in case they show me the proverbial door?

Thanks mates.

Will update my computer soon and leave Incognito so I will disappear forever. How did I achieve Neanderthal by trolling? Some people are after me so need to close account for safety.

But he's joining after Labor Day so should resign first of August! Get logic?

Also, we'll miss you in the office, man! Hope more people know.
