Where to Work?

How do you know where you want to work as a Junior? How do you know which product/industry groups your going to like? I mean I like to dick around with computers and love geeky technology but I have no clue if being in a tech group would be interesting. Some people in my class (also juniors) already know which groups and banks they want to work at. If they've never done IB before how the fuck do they already know? I ask because I'm soon going to have to narrow my list down for companies to apply to and I'm just wondering how some of you went about choosing the firms you went to?

Was it prestige? Was it because that company had a top group that you were interested in? Obviously the people make a huge difference but for now throw that out of the equation.
