Hey guys, I hear alot of talk about how the ipo market is coming back and that banks may be short staffed to handle this. Have you guys seen an uptick in hiring at any of the BB/top MM banks at the analyst level for laterals? Anyone know the situation at UBS since jefferies took half the healthcare team?

I've had previous Ibanking experience over the summer in 2008 but couldn't secure a full time position in 2009. I'm currently working at an economic forecast firm. Is it still possible to lateral into some bank? If so, what's the best way to do it?
You wouldn't qualift as a a lateral hire - most of these guys are looking for analysts with 2-3 years experience. I have heard directly from GS recruiter that they're only hiring laterally if a) you know someone b) from within the firm
Macquarie seems to be hiring in every US office for all positions.
but they require at least 2 years ib experience from decent firms (ie BB, mm such as HL, Sandler, etc.)
for RBC, they'd like someone with a lev fin or fixed income background
