Who on your team selects the potential acquirers for a company? How do you do it?
I'm curious to hear about other bankers' experiences. Assuming it's a typical sellside M&A process with a MD, VP, Associate, Analyst. Who on the team usually selects the acquirers to reach out to? And what's your process of identifying these acquirers? I.e. competitors, companies known to be moving into a particular space, etc.
