They are plowing huge $$$ into the business school (just rebuilt the entire biz school for $100M+) and have the Alts program. They have a pretty natural pipeline to Houston, majority of placements are still there, but NY placements get better every year
Not a target by any means, but definitely one of the better schools in terms of acceptance rate compared to placement rate
Spindletop kids are the best I’ve seen (For Energy). The whole class of 10 this year has placed unbelievably in Houston. I think GS, EVR, LAZ, MOE and Mizuho.

It’s a regional target with ability to get to Wall Street. They have alum everywhere, even their MBA and MSF seemingly have alumni across major firms.
Alts and Spindletop def have best recruiting it seems but even the people not in those groups seemingly can break in.
target is a stretch when it's a daycare for dallas kids who couldn't even crack into a t50
Your first mistake is believing finance is meritocratic or that it attracts the creme de la creme of college students.
