Try walking into a WM office. You’ll see a 45 year old “associate” who’s been doing the name thing for 15+ years and has still not made VP/MD.

2-3 year IBD analyst programs incentivize making a good impression from the jump, gunning for a promotion early, and that increases overall productivity.

No hate to WM btw just an observation

 

Literally the only positive thing about banking is that you either get promoted or you’re out. In literally every other Finance role (including buyside) it’s a bunch of bullshit, performance thresholds and vague politics you have to jump through for promotes. In banking, most of the time if you survive, you’re getting promoted.
