Straight-point collars are best paired with fat faces because of their elongating, slimming effect. Most bankers prefer not to be tubs o' lard and do what is necessary (treadmill, cocaine and faggy spin classes) to maintain a slim face that matches a spread collar shirt.

Straight-point collars also just look really, really stupid.

Spread collars work better with some face types than point collars. Senior guys wear the cutaway or English collar. It's classier in general, and if you have the face shape to pull it off handsomely, you look devilish. Why not.
