Why IB in NYC vs other locations?
Asking in earnest—please forgive my naivety.
Why do so many people want to work in IB in NYC? Given the high cost of living, relatively small cost-of-living adjustments in IB, and the fact that folks hardly have time to enjoy the city, why don’t more people opt for places like Houston, Chicago, or Charlotte—especially for associate level positions and up?
Would love to hear perspectives from those in the industry!
