Being a "relationship" banker. ECM/getting an IPO fully subscribed is not that far away from raising funds.
Not sure how you can’t come to your own conclusion but I’ll bite:
IR and ECM have obvious parallels. You’re generally marketing the business to prospective/ existing shareholders.
ECM and ER deal with IR.
There’s also the relationship management aspect as mentioned.
