Why is summer 2027 recruiting so cooked?

Summer 2027 recruiting is cooked.

We’re not even at Christmas yet and Point72 has already given out offers for Summer 2027. Istg I learned that summer recruiting kicked off when I heard a kid already got an offer. Like wtf?

It’s brutal keeping up with this timeline. Why do full-time analysts want to review applications before/on Christmas? Feel like I blinked and half the street already filled their classes. Doesn’t help that I’m Canadian dealing with all the H1-B stuff.

My target is Blackstone. The Jersey Mike’s deal was huge and everyone’s talking about how Mike’s Way is trending everywhere now. That’s the kind of high-profile work I want to be part of. Does anyone know when they kick off? At this rate, I’m worried if I don’t have something lined up by New Year’s I’m already behind.

Anyone else feeling the pressure of this accelerated timeline? How are you all managing to balance recruiting, school, and actually having time to prepare properly for interviews when everything is moving at lightspeed?

Any advice appreciated.

H1B doesn't matter for Canadians as they go through TN. Interns also go through J1

You’re right; Mike’s way is the only way. There’s no doubt you get a Blackstone internship so wouldn’t worry too much about anything else

You don’t “target” bcp lmao. They run their process in the fall, think it was like sept this yr for CO ‘27. Secure a strong banking offer first and give it a shot later

Have goals but keep things realistic and approach them in a planned, smart way. You 1. didn’t even know when they recruit 2. don’t really seem to know what they do or have a strong reason for wanting to join, given ur reasoning was literally just a single recent high profile deal. Obviously none of us here gaf abt why u want to join, but don’t rule out other seats - especially when they’re basically needed to even have a shot at bcp

Not hating on you, but man you could set goals like MF PE bc there’s so many firms and is doable from a target

BCP comes to you I’m pretty sure and they take 2 people a year

BCP is recruiting alongside the rest of BX for this cycle (Jan release). The recruiting they did this fall is for S26.

Is this post real?? No way you are targeting BX and your thesis is one deal (that literally everyone knows) and a tagline. How can you be so naive about recruiting being this early, target BX, and on top of that have such underbaked logic? I don't understand.

Sorry to also tell you that as an intern or analyst, you would not be contributing much to a deal like that.

Point72 was through case comp and only 10 offers were out to the absolute best. Those guys spent all nighters to get through.Anyways they take like 200 interns and I’m interviewing with them rn so you have leeway and if you’re interested and knowledgeable in publics, you will be interviewing with them too. Also not sure how you’ll recruit for BCP since they’re the ones who did the JM deal (I think?) and they don’t really take anaystsl and if they do they follow: GS TMT/PJT RX + HYP. I know one guy who’s a Chess master lmao

they are absolutely not taking 200 interns. theyre cutting the class to ~50 this year from 60-70 last year idk where you heard that
