Talent drained away from finance entirely
Since when did you need to be "Talented" to work at a bank?
The word "talent" has probably suffered from the most inflation in the past couple years

Prospects sign with EVR M&A, Qatalyst, PHT RSSG before Goldman or JPM even start interviews
JPM started recruiting before any of the boutiques this past year, and the BB timeline was neck in neck with the EB timeline for nondiversity
At the associate / post-MBA level definitely. Even some of the top MMs draw people away particularly those with all cash comp. Meaningful difference
