Will be moving to SF for FT - Suggestions on how to find a good spot/timelines on apartment hunting?

Hi WSO,

Newbie here. I signed with a MM in San Fran for Investment Banking FT. Very excited and stoked for this new chapter of my life.

Coming from a very small city / studying at a collegetown, I never really had to go through the 'hectic' process of finding a place to live. I heard from alumni and friends that finding a good place at a decent price is quite difficult, and especially because I won't really have other friends moving to work there, I'll have to start from the scratch.

Can anybody who moved to SF / living in SF provide me with some advice? What are some things I should look out for? Which neighborhoods are good?

Thanks in advance!

I am looking to move to SF with a move in date of December in mind. If this fits your timeline and you're looking for a flat mate, maybe we can search together.
