lee304short high-end retailers.. I think their upcoming 2nd quarter earnings will be well below analyst's estimates.

I expect most will squeeze enough out to make estimates, but they will give lower guidance going forward which will be equally damning.

 

if you in a trading game, there is no reward for risk adjusted return, just absolute return, so you have an incentive to take crazy amounts of risk. during earnings season, look for companies with high volatility, buy the OTM short dated calls/puts (take a view), if some of them hit big you can make a killing even if you completely miss on a couple
