Will work experience help or hurt Spring Week chances? (IB)
I am getting work experience for a week at a wealth management fund and may also be getting the WSO Academy Equity Research internship. Will this make me look like a better Spring Week candidate or will I look too experienced?
To all student reads - remember, this (OP) is your competition.
If you don't get a spring week/SA, just remember, this is who you fought against, and you lost. Wallow in shame.
In fairness I have heard you can look "overexperienced"
Yeah I think that's more of an issue when you have 10 years of experience applying for entry level roles rather than having 1 week (lol) of barely related "experience" for an insight week.
Thanks for the reply. Better to look stupid now than 6 months from now!
What you've said has me wondering would work experience be valued? What about the WSO "internship"? Is there anything I could do to make myself stand out?
I love your mindset. You will do well. Try different excel modeling. It will provide you good perspective.
