Will working at the NASA budget office in the summer going into my sophomore year help me break in IB?

I am a freshman who wants to go into IB, but also likes space. Is this a good way to combine the two or will IB recruiters not care? It wouldn't be directly IB related but finance/accounting related.

The rule I heard in school was freshman year, as long as the internship is finance related it is good. Sophomore year there is diversity opportunities and you have the possibility to secure an internship that is more directly related to IB and should if you can. Then obviously you have the infamous junior summer internship.

NASA would be a sick internship. Pursue your interests dude. Also, I know your aim is IB but it’s not the end all be all. Make sure it’s what you want to do or that it’s a good launching pad for something you’re interested in doing after. Good luck man!

That sounds pretty awesome, enjoy it.

The one mistake I made in my internships was not asking a ton of questions about how stuff worked - I dealt a bunch with structured products in 2008 and I regret not learning more at the time.

Damn, but then again, I guess nobody really knew what was going on in structured products
