Career Resources
Yes it exists, but in the most untraditional, informal sense. Best way to find something like this is through extensive, extensive networking with professionals in boutique settings who would be open to such an arrangement. As to how to ask/specify for something like this, I don't have a clue.
In the event this is something you pursue, I hope you understand that when you speak about it in the future, you will have to frame/sell it as otherwise.

IB is my dream job, but I don't exactly have the luxury of spending 1K per month in rent to live in Toronto for an unpaid gig. I would rather live at home and work remotely, half the stuff I did during the summer I could do remotely at home. I'm gonna test the waters tomorrow with my new cover letter, and see if any fish bites.
There are a number of search funds in Toronto that are open to taking year round interns. Whether or not they'll be open to a remote internship I'm not sure, but an unpaid internship looks much better on a resume than a period where you did nothing.
Yes I have interviewed with several of them before in my sophomore year, and actually turned down an offer from one of them.
I think it might be a little embarrassing if I go back now, and ask for an unpaid position....after I graduated.
They certainly exist (my first internship I only went to the office 1-2x a week and did the rest from home) but you will have to dig deep for them. See if you can still take advantage of any school career resources available to alumni - they'll post there looking for students willing to work for free.
