Working for smaller boutique IBs in London
I wanted to know how good are the smaller/not so high profile boutique IBs based/represented in London for things such as getting good experience, building skills, remuneration and just general comparison with working in a bulge bracket/well known or larger boutique.
I'm thinking of companies such as Livingstone Partners, TradeRisks and similar.
The reason I ask about these is that I'm currently working in audit (Big Four), getting my chartered accountancy done. From what I've seen/heard, the BB banks are quite picky when hiring people and as such making the jump from audit direct is quite difficult. On the other hand these smaller firms seem to hire tons of ex-Big4 auditors onto their teams which means that my likelihood of getting in is much higher.
Any thoughts on this?
