Does anyone know if visa sponsorship is usually an issue when applying for internships in IB and PE in London, as a European citizen? Would you recommend getting a master’s degree in the UK to exploit the 2 years student visa?

A lot of banks sponsor visas for internships, PE less frequently as far as I know apart from the largest ones like Blackstone.
Does anyone know how the visa sponsorship process looks like though? How long does it take and when it usually starts for summer analysts?
Not sure how long it takes but at the firm I'm interning this summer they are starting the visa application process now for a start in June.
