Working with best friend?

So I got an IBD offer in a group where my best friend works. Will it be as awesome as I'm picturing, or are we going to end up hating each other after couple years of 80 hour weeks and constantly seeing each other faces on weekends? We were also considering living together next year, but now I dunno...Just seems a little strange that I'll see him 3 times more than my girlfriend haha. Anybody has experience?

Do NOT live together. You may grow to resent each other if you are living, working, and partying together. You may very well end up getting along and getting closer, but that doesn't happen real often as far as I've seen. To put it in perspective I lived with a good friend while working with him (only saw him ~20 hours/week at work and probably 40 hours/week at home) and we didn't really talk for a few months after we stopped living together. We're good friends again, but I still acknowledge the fact that he acts like a bitch to the people he lives with. Literally, it was like having a fucking girlfriend.

Who knows though, it may work out for ya. And if you want the opportunity you have in his group, take it.

Living with friends is typically a bad move. I'm doing it right now, I picked a friend instead of a random for my housing and it's almost a regret. I don't believe many friendships weather the strain of cohabitation, or relationships for that matter. Just as you'd need a pretty special girl to make living together work, you have to have a pretty special friend (sorry if this sounds gay).

Take the offer if it's the best group for you, but don't live with him. That's too much.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.
