How much weight is put on intern projects/presentations
I cant speak for all firms, but at mine it's more pivotal if people are on the fence about you. But if the desks you've interned at already have a strong opinion of you one way or another, it doesn't seem to move the needle much
I interned at a small MM bank where they over hired there intern class and the intern project was the deciding factor of who got offers and who didn't.
What was your project like?
Presentation on taking a company private and building out a LBO for it
In a valuation case study, I saw an intern present a value range to a few senior bankers of $100 million - $1.5 billion, it was about a $125 million dollar company

On the corporate side, one of my projects this summer was pure data entry. Was tedious but one of the harder ones since it required looking through many obsolete government websites.
Thankfully my manager got me onto some projects that had C-level visibility which was cool. I don't think the majority of my department had access to data that I had for those projects.
