would I be overusing my contact?

Here is the situation.

A couple of weeks ago (4-5) I reached out to a certain contact within the industry to help me connect with a company that was hiring. The contact tried to help but the position was no longer open. I found out this morning of another position with another company and the contact has several connections with that firm.

Would it be too much to ask for help again after a few weeks?

I cold emailed this contact last summer and have only used them twice so far (the latest being this summer)

Definetly not. Its not like you are hampering him every other day for help with a nonexistant position. Plus, if you want the job you have to use the network available to you. I extensively used one of my contacts (perhaps to the point of being a little annoying) , but in the end my persistance landed me a job.
