Would really appreciate it... anyone here work in Industrials coverage? Have some questions

Hi I am lateraling to an industrials IB coverage group and have never touched foot in the space once at all. Have some quick questions that are pretty general, I would really really appreciate any input or information. Tried to do some research on my own but would love to hear from actual people in the space.

1) I know hours vary hard from bank to bank and deal flow, but industrials is usually a very active group right, if my bank is known for really strong deal flow, is it safe to say I will get killed in terms of hours?

2) My firm and the industrials team historically places very well for PE, but industrials is not somewhere I want to be long term, am I pigeon holed into a career in industrials? If my real interest is tech and eventual tech/software PE or corp dev/strategy at a tech startup, do I have to lateral to a tech team IB first?

3) What are some resources that I should read/catch up on before I hit the desk for industrials specifically? I really do not know anything at all about the space.

4) What are some things that you have really enjoyed about the space, not enjoyed?

5) Can anyone share as a first year analyst what they were typically assigned and what their responsibilities were? I assume I won't touch a model for a while.

6) General pro's and cons of industrials?

7) Any interesting trends going on right now in the space or big things coming soon in the future in industrials world?

Thank you so much guys I really appreciate it. Obviously feel free to answer whatever doesn't have to be much at all, I know I asked a lot. Like I said I know theres a lot of answers to this stuff but would love to hear from new people and get fresh answers. I also know a lot of these answers will vary. Thank you again.
