Yellen or Summers?
Considering everyone that knows nothing about economics has chimed in on this issue, I'm surprised the distinguished finance and banking fellows of WSO haven't made a discussion about this yet.
To be be honest, I'm so sick of the "Obama needs to pick a woman" crowd that I hope he picks Summers just to stick the finger at all of them.
Tim Geither is apparently in the mix (he's rumored to be advising the Pres on his pick. Remember Cheney picking the VP in 2000), Donald Kohn and Roger Ferguson (two former Vice Chairs).
So...who ya got?
Agreed, I'm so sick of the PC crowd screaming for Yellen that I'd like Obama to pick Summers just to stick it to them.
Summers on Yellen:
Neither. I'd like to see an Austrian, which would never happen under Barry's watch.
Yellen is far more competent. I could care less about Summer's thoughts on women, but I'm not convinced he's capable of being Fed Chair.
Haven't heard any other realistic candidates lately.
