I'm almost hesitant to post another report on a lavish party thrown by a bank receiving taxpayer assistance, because by now it is almost cliche. I'm making the exception for three reasons:
- We haven't heard anything about Bear Stearns in awhile
- The party took place across the Pond, so was largely under US media radar
- I've had this great picture for months and can finally use it
Also, the scope of the bash was pretty audacious, if I do say so myself. 900 bottles of wine and 2,000 pints of beer? That has to be one for the books. Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year.
I'm assuming people knew they were going to get canned. No wonder they needed that much alcohol, though I'm surprised there wasn't a huge brawl.
The number of bottles and pints doesn't surprise me for a 1,000 person party.
After reading the article again I did the math and it works out to about 3/4 bottle of wine and two beers per person, pretty much the nightly average in the Braverman household.
