I know theres been other doom-sayers, but what do you guys think about that? MD's with zero bonuses at MS? C'mon someone tell me this is crazy, and Yahoo is blowing it out of proportion.

People who suck don't get bonuses.
The banks have been reporting weak trading results in various products all year, weak results = they suck.
I wouldn't worry about it.
With no bonuses, nobody wants to work on the analyst level or beyond. Talent travels with bonuses (which the compensation departments fully understand), so banks aren't going to intentionally destroy themselves just to look better in the minds of the public. Maybe we have a rough year, but the business is tough and people simply won't do the work anymore if it gets too grim
