Hey guys, (see the bottom of the post for a TLDR)

I just had a fourth round interview for an entry level role with a institutional lending team of 7.

1st round was an interview with HR. Nothing special but he was impressed with my resume and thought I'd be a good fit for the role;

2nd round was an interview with the team leader and I really impressed him with my interest in CRE and understanding of the market. He had me send a writing sample to him after and I received very strong feedback.

3rd round was with a senior guy on the team who has been with the team for about 2 years. He was also impressed with my market knowledge and we had a great conversation.

4th round was with the other senior guy on the team who has been with the team for about 6 years and plays a big role in advising on new hires. Interview started off fine. He asked me about my analytical experience and what I see myself doing in the long term. Had good answers for those Qs. Then the guy proceeds to explain the role for like 20 minutes straight and goes into a ton of detail, and a few things went way over my head. It was really hard to digest everything. Before he started talking about the role he told me I could interject to ask any questions at any point but it felt so awkward to stop him while he was on a role to ask a Q. When he was finished he asked if I had any questions for him. I asked him about what his role was when he started working for the team which was something he had kind of touched on already (it wasn't the brightest question). I was so overwhelmed with all the stuff he had spewed about the position that I didn't know what else to ask other than "the position is extremely multifaceted, are there any specific tasks that I'll be doing more than anything else?"

I wish I had asked a question about some of the specific things he had said about the position and what the team does but I was so overloaded I couldn't think.

I feel like the two guys on the team I had already spoken with had hyped me up to this guy and I failed to impress him. At the end of the interview he told me good luck and that if I had any questions I could shoot him an email. Does it make sense to try to redeem myself by asking him a question via email? Should I mention that I felt like I could have left a better impression?

TLDR: just had a fourth job interview after 3 really strong interviews with other team members and I felt like it could've gone way better if I had asked better questions. The person that interviewed me told me good luck and to send him an email if I had any other questions. Would it make sense to send an email to acknowledge that I didn't ask the best questions and ask him some stronger questions?
